Indians try to sign, not trade, Sabathia
While trade winds have swirled around C.C. Sabathia for months, Indians general manager Mark Shapiro has long remained adamant that he will make every attempt to sign his ace to a contract extension. It appears those efforts might once again be heating up, as the trading deadline nears and the Indians must make a decision on what to do with C.C.
The Newark Star-Ledger, citing an anonymous Major League executive, reported Thursday that the Indians are making a final effort to sign Sabathia before trading him. This isn't particularly shocking news, given Shapiro's statements throughout this process. The shock would be if Sabathia, who broke off negotiations before Spring Training, was willing to talk contract in-season. He was pretty clear that he wasn't interested in such discussions during the season, for fear of a distraction.

Sorry Cleveland Sabathia will be out of Cleveland by the end of the month. Sabathia will ethier go to Chicago, New York, or Boston not Oakland because A's have no shoot at playin in October.

What we are doing, is preparing for a launch of the site, which is typically going to be a type of MySpace for sports, a social networking site for fans of all ages, covering every team, special events and news. We offer forums, blogs, featured articles, member interaction, trash-cam videos and much more.
July 31st, is a special time in baseball where some teams gain hope, and some teams show no signs of hope and sell everyone off, and we want you to be with us, sharing in the joy and agony of watching players on the move.
The site is in Alpha stages at the moment, and you will see a lot of issues being addressed. Once they are, the site goes Beta and that’s where you come in, to test it out, give feedback and tell us what you like or don’t like before we go live with a launch.
So if you are a diehard fan, we welcome you to join us at www.diehard101.com/phpfox
