Bengie on Marlins radar
Considering the success Bengie Molina has had throughout his career against the Marlins makes it easy to understand why Florida is now coveting the Giants' catcher. MLB.com has learned that the Marlins have inquired about obtaining Molina in a trade. The asking price, however, may be more than the team is willing to pay. Still, Molina and the Marlins are a potential matchup worth watching the next few days. This season, Molina is 9-for-14 with four doubles, one homer and seven RBIs against the Marlins. For his career, the veteran catcher is 24-for-54 (.444). The Marlins are searching for catching help, especially now that Matt Treanor, on the DL since July 8, is seeing a specialist for his strained left hip.

This is not an unrealistic move for the Marlins. With the two catchers they started with on the year out (Rabelo and Treanor) and Hoover and Baker Just are simply not getting it done (combined they are 15 for 81 and only 9 RBIs). This is deal that is very intriguing for the Marlins considering Molina's numbers against them and in Dolphin Stadium. All Marlins catchers are comined for 37 RBIs and 81 Hits compared to Molina's 98 RBIs and 98 hits. The Marlins would be willing to pay a bit for this much more production in the line up.

The Marlins will not get Molina and thats all there is to it. The Marlins dont have anybody to give up for him. He sucks and so do the Marlins. The Marlins WILL NOT get this SUCKY catcher!! Nobody will get him because nobody wants him.

Spoken like a true dodger fan. Don't be mad the at the Fish for taking 3 of 4 from you! I am not saying its an absolute, just a pore plausible option than what most consider it!

The Marlins actually have a pretty decent farm system. They are ranked 14th overall by Baseball America. The Marlins have a ton of pitchers, most likely Chris Volstad is most likely off limits but Sean West, Ryan Tucker, or Brett Sinkbiel are options. The marlins also have Gaby Sanchez at 1st, Dallas McPherson at 3rd and OF's John Raynor and Jai Miller.
