Hollywood for Manny?

Just when it seemed the Red Sox weren't going to be able to find a deal for star slugger Manny Ramirez, they have reportedly dealt the right-handed hitting run producer to the Los Angeles Dodgers. SI.com reported the news. The Boston Globe also reported that the Red Sox had traded Ramirez to the Dodgers. Rumblings are that Jason Bay is in fact going from Pittsburgh to Boston to make it a three-way deal.

Details to come.

WHY?
The Dodgers are already loaded with outfielders.
This is really shocking.

Total SHOCK!! OMG! Everything is going downhill from here. Bay better be worth it!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
MANNY WILL HELP US WIN THE WORLD SERIES
AS A TRUE DODGER FAN I AM SO HAPPY THAT I AM GONNA
GET DRUNK!!! :)

hahah why?

have you seen manny hit?

he's better then anybody on the dodgers line up

Omg Arizona is soooo freakin stupid. Couldnt part with anyone to get Texeria or Dunn and LA gets Rameriez??? Arizona should just give the division to LA

you guys think he'll be a rental? or will the Dodgers pick up his option? interesting to see how Pierre, Eithier, Kemp and Jones deal with 2 positions Three of them deserve to start...

Bad move Theo. The highest priority for the Sox was adding to the bullpen, and this move actually subtracted from it.

hahha jones doesnt deserve anything

you earn things you deserve.

all jones has done is struck out

Im with you speedy tequila shots all around im already buzzed he's playing for free (the red soxs are paying for the rest of the year) he's got something to prove and we need a hitter ill see u guys in downtown la in october for the parade.

just goes to show you how much the Red Sox wanted Manny out of Boston can wait to see Manny at Dodger Stadium

There are no options; that was one of the reasons Manny agreed to a trade to any team. He'll be a free agent at the end of the season. Giving 3 players to get only one doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but in Theo I trust. This must have been the best thing for the team right now. I'll wait to see the details when everything shakes out.

Manny is going to choose when he wants to play just like he did in Boston. And who wants a $20 million opp in the off season? The Sox can pay for Bay, and he only earns $7 million. It's not a loss for the Sox.

it isnt a loss for the red sox money wise but it is a loss in the bullpen... they cant expect to contend with that bullpen. they were supposed to improve it not make it worse

Venegas, your right they did make it worse, but at least now Manny's being Manny in L.A.

This is the worst deal that the Red Sox could have made. Boston is giving up their playoff spot this year. The Red Sox will not be in the World Series for a long time. We gave up a future Hall-of-Famer for somebody who is not even close to as good as Manny is and will never be there. The Red Sox gave up three good players for one decent one. Jason Bay will not be able to get the Red Sox over the hump and into the playoffs this year. The Red Sox should have just put up with Manny for the rest of the year, made the playoffs and gave him his option year next year. Manny Ramirez was the face of the franchise and a big reason why the Red Sox won two World Series in four years. Boston has no idea what they have just gotten themselves into, they will lose a big chunk of their fan base because of this awful trade. Also we needed help in the bullpen and we actually gave away one of our better relievers and a future star. Theo is soooo stupid.
