Marlins making call for arms

The team that says you can never have too much pitching is in the market searching for, what else? Pitching. To help bolster the bullpen, the team is exploring options for a veteran reliever, specifically a right-hander since the team has an effective lefty in Renyel Pinto. A veteran catcher also is on the team's radar. However, there are indications the Marlins are not serious about pursuing Paul Lo Duca, a Marlin in 2004-05, who is now with Washington. The Marlins have Minor League prospects that could be appealing to other clubs.

With JJ, Sanchez and Mitre on their way back from injuries, is it more likely that Florida will pursue another arm in the bullpen? Or will they look for a starter no matter what and move one of those three to the pen if they need to?

Johnson could be back as soon as July 9 at San Diego. Sanchez is targeted for the end of July. Sergio Mitre may be in August or perhaps September. All three are viewed as starters, and the team is committed to pitching them there. Now, the team may end up acquiring a starter, and a candidate who may be in line to move to the bullpen is Mark Hendrickson. We aren't at that point yet.

The Indians just released Borowski. Any chance of the Marlins picking him up?
