Teixeira Trade Talk
There no longer seems to be much reason to wonder if the Braves are going to trade Mark Teixeira. But where he ends up before Thursday's Trade Deadline remains anyone's guess.
Yahoo's Steve Henson has reported that talks with the Diamondbacks are "pretty far along." There's certainly reason to believe the validity of this report. The Braves would want Connor Jackson included in this deal. But at the same time, they might accept Chad Tracy and a respectable prospect as compensation for Teixeira.
The Braves talked to at least six teams about Teixeira on Monday. So far, the Dodgers, D-Backs and Angels have seemingly been the most likely suitors for Teixeira. But the Yankees are showing some late interest and it wouldn't be surprising to see the switch-hitting first baseman wearing pinstripes beyond this season.

I think Conor Jackson to Atlanta will not happen. I think it is more a possibility to see Chad Tracy and a prospect to go. There is rumors on the dbacks community forum that Micah Owings is on in the deal. Evreyone would be sad to see one of the best hitters and pitchers on the team go. Conor Jackson,or Micah Owings,Chad Tracy for a rental player. If they do aquire him they should sign him to a contract.

If texeira does go to NY you mean... but they're bringing up the Yankees with everyone so I'm not sure he's going to the Yankees, plus the Yankees aren't in the playoffs yet. And think of what it'll look like if Matsui and Posada get back in.

die hard braves fan here and i see a trend that was rampant in the 70's with the braves renting talent then giving it away along with thier youthful talent if tex goes to arizona and the braves don't get conor jackson then they should hold on to tex and if he does'nt resign then at least they would get two compensation picks much better than just giving him away

I'd love to see him in a Yankee Jersey this year but that wouldnt be smart to give up prospects for him. They will 100% def sign him in the offseason.

Tex will not go to the yankees this season in a trade for the same reason he will not go to the BoSox. The Yankees will not trade top prospects. If they would trade top prospects Johan Santana would be the Yankee ace. Arizona has a very deep farm system and could afford to part with a couple prospects and still have a great future and are more willing to do so then the Dodgers or Angels.
PS Yankee fans you still have a great chance to sign him in the offseason. Yankees, BoSox, Mets, LA dodgers and the LA Angels only teams that can afford 20m+ type players. And yet only the BoSox can win championships.

The d'backs may have a crummy record but there still in playoff contention and if they make a big trade their almost guarnteed the division soooooo yaaa they suckkkkk sooo mucccchhhh(sarcasm thought id clairify that for stupid ppl like luke)
